About the role

We are looking for a Purchasing Officer - Irrigation for Sunfam to join our team in Bundaberg on a Permanent, Full-Time basis.

As a Sunfam Purchasing Officer - Irrigation, you will be responsible for supplier discussions and negotiations to ensure best price and product is sourced, O/S purchases and negotiations, review industry and competitors to ensure point of difference, ensure supply continuity, and improve efficiency through best-practice procurement processes and system improvements. You will also be responsible for managing stock on hand, assist forecasting for projects, stocktakes and maximising Sunfam and Elders combined buying powers with our suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Use data-driven analysis to assess spend, benchmark costs, identify savings opportunities, and drive implementation.
  • Manage supplier performance to ensure best-practice procurement.
  • Engage and balance stakeholder needs across the business, ensuring customer focus and strong cross-level relationships.
  • Maintain and improve the procurement pipeline, optimising team workload and reducing operational peaks.
  • Identify and drive improvements across procurement and inventory management process through identifying efficiencies
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure timeframes are communicated to ensure projects are delivered on time

About you

  • Friendly and outgoing personality, team player, open to learning and genuine interest in providing best solution for all stakeholders
  • Negotiation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience in Agriculture and/or Irrigation industry or genuine interest in providing best solutions to Growers
  • A basic understanding of inventory management and impacts across all stakeholders
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) with intermediate excel capability and familiarity.
  • Knowledge of domestic, commercial and agriculture irrigation, rural products an advantage however not necessary
